After a number of successful projects and a durable collaboration with Growers United, the PapriCo location in Zwaagdijk also agreed at the beginning of this year to start with GreenCommerce. After a number of months of preparations, new developments and connections with machine manufacturers Viscon and Aweta, the software went live within the pre-agreed schedule.
A complex issue in the fresh produce industry is finding the optimal structure of mixed pallets, taking into account the properties of the goods that are stacked on the pallet. To further shape this issue, a project group from TU Delft started research at the beginning of this year.

Witkamp was looking for a new software solution to gain proper control over daily business processes. They came into contact with jem-id and made the choice to start with GreenCommerce. Since January 2023, Fresh Produce Centre has taken over the export statistics from the Quality Control Bureau (KCB). A new Export Statistics System has been developed for this purpose, with which weekly data can be supplied digitally. Software company jem-id has realized an integration with Fresh Produce Centre, which makes it possible for users of GreenCommerce to easily and accurately manage and supply data via the software package.
Digital displays that show important (logistical) information on the work floor. In the first quarter of 2023, a research was initiated into the possibilities and applicability, after which the green light was given to develop the Insights App. This brand new App will manage the information centre for various logistics purposes. Last week the go-ahead was given for the collaboration between Growers United's new packaging center - especially for Paprico's block peppers - and jem-id. GreenCommerce is being used for this packaging location; the software that controls the entire production process at the location. A number of specific solutions and setting up an integration platform are part of this project.
In 2022, with the Watermelon release, various developments have already been made in the QC App, whereby an automated mechanism has been created for performing quality inspections. Based on the roadmap, a follow-up is planned for the first quarter of 2023. Specific re-inspection settings based on the 'type' of product must ensure professionalisation in the quality process.
Since last year, service provider and trading company Europe Retail Packing (ERP) has implemented digital order picking through the WMS App of GreenCommerce. The WMS App runs on tablets and is directly connected to the sales system at the office. Besides the fact that the WMS strongly promotes synergy, a lot of time is also saved. The App enables ERP employees to pick paperless orders within their shared warehouse.
Digitization is seeping deeper and deeper into business processes, but not everyone in the fresh produce industry sits behind a desk. Since the Ximenia release, the process of entering items in GreenCommerce has been set up more efficiently. A new link between GreenCommerce and Work IT Packaging has been realized for Looye Kwekers. The tomato grower has been working with GreenCommerce for years to manage commercial business processes. Because Looye Kwekers was going to use the new Work IT software, a new link to GreenCommerce was required to allow both systems to communicate with each other.

From the Quince release it is possible in every overview screen to enable selection totals via the column selector. The second quarterly release of 2020 is the Nectarine release. The release comes with a development for withdrawing usage of an order. This makes it possible to withdraw several lines of the order usage at once. An option has also been added to withdraw the total usage of an order.
The FreshTracker quality control application has been developed for GreenCommerce users for fresh produce companies that have to inspect products and guarantee food safety. With this application, inspection reports can be drawn up and results can be shared throughout the chain so that traceability is optimally guaranteed.
We were visiting Euro West and had a nice chat with Stefan van Marrewijk. Within Euro West, Stefan is mainly concerned with food safety and certifications. He is also the person who is engaged in optimizing the use of GreenCommerce. The Mango release also improves the process of scheduling purchase and sales orders for transport or shipment. Previously, it was already possible to choose to plan a line in an existing transport order when planning transport. To make this process faster and more user-friendly, we have made it clearer which transport order contained the other lines of the order. As a user you want to be able to see at a glance which transport order already contains purchase or sales order lines, so that the new line(s) can easily be added.
Recently, GreenCommerce user Timerfruit and Karsten Suiderland Logistics (KSL) have further professionalised the collaboration by digitally connecting each other's systems. In this way, both parties are able to exchange data about logistical processes such as expected goods, production and shipment fully automatically with each other, resulting in a major efficiency improvement. The real-time link between the two parties is established through the use of FreshBabel as a medium to exchange information with each other.
The Mango release contains a new development that optimizes the process of splitting off mixed pallets. When splitting off a mixed pallet, the original pallet with the pallet number will be retained in the new situation. So a new pallet with a new pallet number will be created for what you will eventually consume or ship. Just like when splitting off a "none-mixed pallet"!

Many companies in the fresh produce industry deal with different types of packaging/fust on a daily basis, such as packaging materials and pallets. The newly developed fust module in GreenCommerce ensures that both types of companies have full control over the entire packaging stock and the associated financial value.
You can work in two different ways within GreenCommerce when it comes to inspections and quality control. The first way is the inspection module with which a user directly enters inspection data into the system. The second way is to register inspection reports via FreshTracker inspection application and to retrieve the results from your own system. Users work via an app with which barcodes can be scanned, after which the registration of an inspection starts.
Work in warehouses is still often carried out using many paper lists. Changes in orders or productions are often difficult subjects and cause difficulties in mutual communication. It is time for us to look for improvements and a next step in digitization, specifically aimed at the processes that take place in warehouses.
The Courgette release brings several interesting developments specifically targeted at importers. For this release the focus has been on the registration as well as the logistic handling of containers.
