Update: Apple continues to support web apps with iOS 17.4. What does this mean?

Apple recently announced that it is reversing its decision to no longer support web apps in Europe. In the final version of iOS 17.4 that will be released in March, the use of web apps will work as usual. This is good news for our applications, such as the GreenCommerce Apps and GreenXchange.

In an official statement, Apple describes that it is taking back the decision it previously made. In February 2024, the company decided that they would officially say goodbye to web apps in Europe with the arrival of iOS 17.4. This was in response to the European Digital Markets Act (DMA), which came into effect on March 8. To meet this requirement, Apple would have to completely redesign its web app technology. Apple decided against this, but is now reversing this decision due to the discussion that arose from the development community.

For Apple users, nothing will change in the user-friendliness of our applications for now. These will continue to work in the same way as you are used to. Good news for our applications!
