Kick-off collaboration new location Growers United Zwaagdijk and jem-id

Last week the go-ahead was given for the collaboration between Growers United's new packaging center - especially for Paprico's block peppers - and jem-id. GreenCommerce is being used for this packaging location; the software that controls the entire production process at the location. A number of specific solutions and setting up an integration platform are part of this project.

Complete solution by jem-id i.c.w. with machine manufacturers
Growers United has chosen jem-id's total ICT design for the new location in Zwaagdijk. In addition to the new sorting line and the fully integrated internal logistics, GreenCommerce (jem-id) has been chosen. With this, jem-id offers a complete ERP and WMS solution for all registration and management within the DC. All communication between Growers United's sellers and the packaging company is made accessible through FreshBabel Messenger, jem-id's standard communication platform. An integration platform is being developed for internal information exchange. This provides machine manufacturers such as Viscon, Aweta and Burgmachinery with information and GreenCommerce receives real-time information about the production process. With this complete solution, Growers United wants to make a professionalization move together with the PapriCo growers, in order to be prepared for the future.

Close cooperation between jem-id and Viscon
For the new location in Zwaagdijk, Viscon, together with jem-id, integrates the various machine lines with the ERP system GreenCommerce. Viscon's Factory Intelligence Software ensures that all machines integrate perfectly with each other to produce efficiently and controllably. Patrick Sannes (Viscon): “Together with jem-id, Viscon ensures that Growers United Zwaagdijk remains in control of their packaging process. From sales to start of production order to palletized end product. Reliable, traceable and verifiable.”

Mark Borst (director of Paprico) has been involved in the preparations for the project in recent months and the official kick-off has now taken place: “At jem-id, people with practical experience work and you can see that in the chosen solutions. In addition, they have been working in the fresh produce sector for years, so that we can switch quickly together and do not have to explain too much about the processes. Therefore we have been working with jem-id applications for 10 years.”

Berry van Zijp (jem-id Project Coordinator) and a number of colleagues are closely involved in the entire project:

“After an intensive preliminary phase, together with Growers United, we are proud to be able to deliver a complete solution. Specifically for this project I was able to use a lot of knowledge and experience that I gained within the sector before I started working at jem-id. We have now started with the first developments and structural consultations are taking place to ensure that the project is going in the right direction.''
