Research QA Features

This year we will resume our research on sector-specific issues surrounding quality, certifications, sales requirements, etc. The results of this research and the increasing use of existing solutions will form a basis for developments that will appear on the roadmap in 2025.

Insights App - Outgoing transport

New developments in the Insights App provide the final finishing touches, especially for screens for the shipment process. A research will be done regarding outgoing transport in the first quarter of 2024.

Insights App - Production

In the second quarter the focus will be on creating layouts for new production processes. E.g. screens with a timetable and machine display.

Paperless warehouse

Our aim to rid the fresh produce warehouse of paper takes on greater significance with this part. In the first quarter, research is conducted into the most valuable issues to address. This includes opportunities for companies that work with the WMS App and for inspectors who assess goods for suitability for customers.

Paperless warehouse

Depending on the outcome of the research, developments will be initiated to further digitally support inspectors in the warehouse. Consider the process control function for production and shipment, but also functionalities for stock selections, for example.

Paperless warehouse

A start will be made on the first developments based on the outcome of the research from Q1. New functionalities will be developed in phases during the quarter.

Pallet demands

For the topic 'Service Providers', the first quarter is mainly devoted to preparatory work, such as creating designs and prototypes.

Customer Portal

The aim is to start pilots in the second quarter of 2024 and then deliver the first version of the customer portal in the third quarter.

Pallet demands

Specific management of clients is becoming increasingly important. That is why options for pallet demands will be added in the third quarter. This allows service providers to be managed at the level of pallet (line)s. Expansions will follow in FreshBabel, GreenCommerce and the WMS App.

Task driven process

While the topic of Task driven process already begun in 2023, it will also kick off in the first quarter of 2024. In a pilot, employees test whether they can be managed more specifically via work orders instead of pick lists. From the warehouse office they can then have employees pick up, collect and ship multi-user orders.

Task driven process

As an extension of the previously conducted research conducted by TU Delft students in 2023, a follow-up experiment will start in the second quarter of this year. A new approach will have to be found for generating optimal layouts of mixed pallets. Once again in collaboration with TU Delft.

Transportal 2.0

A brand new link between clients and transporters that works together with real-time information, the 'Transportal 2.0'. The existing links to the Transportal will be converted to an exchange via FreshBabel. In the first quarter the focus is on functionally converting the technology to FreshBabel.

Transportal 2.0

After the technology has been switched to FreshBabel, the last quarter will focus on easing the administrative burden. Possible options are being examined in collaboration with various transporters.

Voice picking experiment

For this topic we are looking for collaboration with The Hague University of Applied Sciences. A feasibility study is carried out into the possibilities of voice picking through an internship project. The first application will be tested in the WMS App, where audio input should be able to replace simple actions.

Framework

Anyone who does not move along will automatically fall behind. The tech stack is kept up to date to remain future-proof. We pay attention to the latest tooling and frameworks that can potentially be used.
