More insight into supplier and producer certifications

Gepost door  Jill van der Knaap   op  15 April 2022

The Vanilla version contains several new developments to expand the process around certificate management. Quality employees increasingly have to deal with the processing of certifications, also from suppliers and the underlying producers. It is important that this information is presented in a clear manner so that the chance of errors is minimized. In collaboration with various GreenCommerce users, we have started working on new developments to expand the process surrounding certifications in GreenCommerce.

Theme: Quality Assurance & Compliance

Within the Quality Assurance & Compliancy theme, we continuesd on a new layer within certificate management. This layer concerns the possibility to also record certifications of producers (such as growers/farms) or suppliers where purchases are made. One of the developments focuses on being able to manage suppliers, the underlying producers and associated producer locations. Different suppliers can deliver goods from the same original manufacturers, something that users can manage directly.

An extension has been made via a new dashboard that shows the certification status of suppliers at a detailed level. In addition to showing which certifications are active and valid for each supplier, this is also done for all underlying producers. As a user, you thus have a clear picture of the entire chain up to the level of producer locations (e.g. PUC, PHC or grower code) in one go.

An extra functionality has been added with which a basic form of MRL registrations can also be recorded. When entering this, it is indicated for which producer and, if necessary, which producer location a sample has been requested and whether an exceedance has been found from the analysis. This data is also shown in the certification dashboard; in this way you as a user have a lot of relevant data in view quickly and easily.

Make the right choices at a glance
As a follow-up to these developments, time was made in the third sprint to make certificate information available in the processes where stock is used, such as during the sales process. Sellers can make the right choices at a glance with regard to salable stock, because it is clear for every batch what the certificates/certifications have been at the time of purchase and receival.

In combination with the previous developments with which a lot can be provided with a specific GGN or grower identification, these are now two crucial properties that are immediately available during the sales process. Choices concerning: 'which stock is suitable for which customers' can thus be made easier with structured information that is available immediately and in real-time.

Future developments
As soon as it is possible to understand the certification and source properties of batch inventory, we will look further to capture customer requirements and thus create a cross-section of inventory. Suitable stock can easily be made conspicuous and stock that is definitely not allowed to a customer can also be blocked in the process.

We are also investigating the possibility of linking up with external parties that can automatically supply data when this normally has to be entered manually. Think, for example, of linking certification information or of reading MRL results.
