Link between GreenCommerce and Work IT Packaging ensures a seamless connection with Looye Growers - GreenCommerce

Link between GreenCommerce and Work IT-Packaging ensures a seamless connection with Looye Kwekers

A new link between GreenCommerce and Work IT Packaging has been realized for Looye Growers. The tomato grower has been working with GreenCommerce for years to manage commercial business processes. Because Looye Growers was going to use the new Work IT software, a new link to GreenCommerce was required to allow both systems to communicate with each other. The new link ensures that various data about production and logistics activities can be exchanged between the systems. As a result, the mutual communication between the commercial department and the production and logistics departments is seamlessly coordinated.

Reason for new link
With the migration to the new Work IT Packaging software from Nitea, Looye Growrs felt the need to improve the data exchange between both systems. In the old link, certain information was not available in the warehouse; something in which a huge profit is expected in the new situation. The new link provides a future-proof solution in which information about production and shipments can be viewed in both systems, allowing for better anticipation.

The project is divided into 3 phases and the first phase went live at Looye Growers on 1 February. “The process to go live went very well, with the end result being a successful implementation of Work-IT Packaging. Thanks to the good cooperation between Looye and the developing parties, the first phase went smoothly." says Chakir Akachit of Looye Kwekers. "The new link between GreenCommerce and Work-IT packaging offers us a good basis for further development in the field of information exchange and conclusive traceability of the flow of goods.”

In the second phase, more information will be sent from Work IT Packaging to GreenCommerce, such as the complete crop tracking. In this way, Looye Kwekers can see at a detailed level in both systems which product comes from which grower and where it is ultimately shipped to. This information is currently only available in Work IT Packaging, but will now be shared with GreenCommerce so that it is also accessible to the users there.

The last phase will be dominated by flexibility. In addition, both parties will support a few additional process flows in the link between the systems.

Intensive collaboration process
Looye Growers has been using JEM-id's GreenCommerce for years to keep control over (commercial) business processes. In order to realize the new link, an intensive collaboration process has been started between the companies, in which Nitea and JEM-id jointly went to the drawing board for the technical structure. For example, several development sprints were initiated with close involvement from Looye Growers and various demos and test sessions were organized at which JEM-id, Nitea and Looye Growers were present.

“Normally we work independently on our own products. This link required intensive cooperation, in which we had to consult a lot and frequently. There were weekly contact moments and test sessions at Nitea, Looye and JEM-id. For example, we have realized the new connector that ensures the mutual exchange of messages between GreenCommerce and Work IT Packaging. With this project, much more understanding has been created towards each other and we have been able to switch quickly for our joint customer; being Looye Growers.” says Robin van den Broek, developer and process architect at JEM-id.

“JEM-id and Nitea have proven that as software developers you can work together successfully on an optimal link between software solutions, each with its own specialism. It is important here to involve the customer at every step in this process, both in design and realization as well as implementation and 'go-live'. Thanks to this link, Looye Growers has optimal support in the entire business process, from repackaged product to sales and shipment.” says Alwin van der Zwan, product manager at Nitea.

Independence to ensure flexibility
The starting point of the project was to offer Looye Growers optimum flexibility, so that they have complete freedom to make changes to the individual systems without the intervention of JEM-id or Nitea. Both systems work autonomously, but are seamlessly connected to each other via the link. This offers Looye Growers optimum freedom and flexibility for future business operations.
