Yilmaz Radish gets started with GreenCommerce Production App
Earlier this year, Yilmaz Radish moved into its new location at the ABC site in Poeldijk. The facility has been transformed into both a distribution center and office, while significant steps have also been taken in automation. This progress extends to software as well. The company has implemented the QC App and has started working with the GreenCommerce Production App, with the goal of expanding its use further in the near future.
Yilmaz Radish: specialists in growing, harvesting, and processing radishes
Yilmaz is a cultivation and production company specializing in various types of radishes. Founded in 2001, the company has grown significantly over the years, expanding its cultivation area to approximately 30 hectares across multiple greenhouse locations. The company specializes in producing high-quality radishes for both the domestic market and export throughout Western Europe. Through its commitment to sustainable practices, including the use of hybrid lighting systems and water recirculation, Yilmaz has significantly reduced its environmental impact.
Marwin Springer, site manager of the new facility at ABC Westland 501, explains: “I joined Yilmaz in February, and since then we have made major strides in automation and software. Thanks to my previous experience with GreenCommerce, I quickly realized that the system was not being used to its full potential. We gradually started implementing the first extensions, such as the QC App and the Production App.”
Production App: supporting service providers
Scheduled jobs include a variety of information such as start and end times, breaks, and production standards. To maintain control over the process, a visual comparison between planning and actual performance is an essential feature. With the Production App, users can instantly see whether production is on schedule and identify any issues that may arise during the process. By navigating between the different tabs, users can easily switch between scheduled jobs, planning overviews, and machine information.
The Production App makes it possible to register activities at packing and repacking lines without the need for a PC. Its direct connection to GreenCommerce ensures that all information is visible in real time at the office, keeping everyone informed about the progress of the production process.
“Since implementing the Production App, we have gained much better insight into labor hours and have been able to optimize our capacity planning. We now have full control because we can rely on data. That creates peace of mind on the production floor as well as in the office. The enthusiasm is also reflected at management level, which is why we are eager to take the next steps with GreenCommerce as our digital partner.”
Continuing the automation journey
Yilmaz currently operates 30 hectares of radish cultivation and aims to expand to 50 hectares in the future. Marwin concludes: “We are currently working with 12 machines in the Production App and want to expand to additional licenses in the near future. Our new facility is fully prepared for this growth and automation phase. We are also discussing the WMS App and Insights App. That could be a great next step in our digitalization journey.”
