Import proces of a fresh produce company working with GreenCommerce

The Courgette release brings several interesting developments specifically targeted at importers. For this release the focus has been on the registration as well as the logistic handling of containers. Until now it was not easy for importers to properly document and monitor the preparatory stage of purchase. Especially elements such as insights into expected deliveries, containers and its logistic progress were often done outside of GreenCommerce despite the fact that this is valuable information for the remainder of the process which is done using GreenCommerce.

Delivery and containers
Being able to enter and manage deliveries and containers is a completely new element. We have ensured that the container fully aligns with a purchase order, so that the purchase administration and the way batches are documented doesn’t change. When containers are being delivered or bought, it’s often already clear as to which pallet numbers are in which container and to which batches they belong. In order to quickly adapt to this, pallets can be specified in advance so that upon arrival the containers can easily be marked as received, for example by scanning the pallet numbers upon receival.

Container planning
Before a container arrives at its final destination it has been through an extensive logistics process. This includes the unloading of containers, customs control, being picked up by transporters and so on. By means of a whole new container planning component you can track and record this process from a container's arrival at the port or airfield until it reaches its final destination. This is ideal for gaining insight in the incoming flow of goods.

Conflicts
Both sea- and air transport are prone to delays. Because orders are often categorised based on their expected time of arrival, it’s very valuable if one can immediately undertake action the moment a shipment is delayed. With the new “purchase-conflicts screen” you can easily adapt to such situations. It allows you to quickly see which sales orders or production orders will be delayed, or which transport orders can no longer be completed due to increased loading and unloading time.

Adopt information directly from the source
The pallets that are being imported often have a lot of source information available. This includes pallet numbers, global GAP numbers and the original growers. This information can now too be documented straight from the containers, which allows you to trace your products in a very detailed manner.
