GreenCommerce strengthens collaborations at Van Ooijen Citrus

It was a fresh start to 2026 for Van Ooijen Citrus in terms of automation. At the beginning of this year, the fresh produce importer started using GreenCommerce software to automate their daily processes. A very fast implementation was possible thanks to the help of partner Marni Fruit and the logical structure of the software package. With a compact team of 10 employees, a large number of orders are handled daily.

Specialized in citrus
At Van Ooijen Citrus, everything revolves around reliability and quality. The assortment consists of citrus: lemons, mineolas, oranges, mandarins, but also cherries, pomegranates, herbs and iceberg lettuce. Jacco Gielen, working at Van Ooijen Citrus, begins: “We are a small company with short lines. This also translates to customers and suppliers, allowing us to act quickly. We are proud of our year-round assortment because we import from different countries worldwide. The customer is central to us and service is of great importance.”

Smooth implementation through close collaboration
The first demos were given in December and as of January 1, Van Ooijen Citrus has fully switched to GreenCommerce. A very fast implementation that was intensively guided. Van Ooijen Citrus is part of a parent group with several companies under it, including Marni Fruit. Because Marni Fruit already has years of experience with GreenCommerce, the implementation was carried out in close collaboration.

Jacco Gielen: “Due to the close collaboration and the experience that Marni Fruit already has with GreenCommerce, we were able to get started quickly with the package. The best time to start with a new software package is January 1. Although it was very short notice, we still managed to make it happen through several intensive sessions with jem-id and Marni Fruit. The master data was set up for us, after which we could quickly get started. Training was provided by an employee of Marni Fruit, so that we could immediately settle batches and master the commercial process. It was a leap into the deep end that we look back on positively.”

Time savings through financial process integration
The close collaboration with Marni Fruit is further strengthened because both companies use GreenCommerce. The software package eliminates many manual tasks since orders are exchanged digitally between the two companies. Financial data is shared, allowing invoices to be automatically reconciled. In addition, a single shared stock is used and orders automatically appear in both environments.

Jacco: “GreenCommerce provides good insight into sales results for the reporting and settlement of a batch. Because the system integrates well with the other companies in the group, we can collaborate more effectively. GreenCommerce offers the option to offset costs, which saves a lot of time later during settlement. The integrations with Twinfield and Blue10 ensure a streamlined financial process.”

Jacco looks positively toward the future: “Soon, the building next to us will make way for a brand-new location where multiple companies will come together, including Marni Fruit and Four Seasons Fruit Supply. We look forward to this new phase, which will undoubtedly strengthen collaboration even further.”
