Improved digital returns processing between client and service provider

Starting from the Nutmeg version, a new development has been implemented in GreenCommerce to process returns and rerouting more efficiently. At a service provider or warehouse operating on GreenCommerce, goods are sometimes returned, after which a new batch is created. However, the return is linked back to the original batch at the client's side, which meant that the service provider had two batches that corresponded to a single batch for the client. As a result, the service provider could no longer automatically assign one of the two batches. New developments ensure that both batches are automatically included in assignments, allowing the service provider to always fall back on the original order.

To strengthen collaboration between the client and the service provider or warehouse, the message processing for returns and rerouting has been improved. Through a digital integration, messages are exchanged between the office and the warehouse, with both the original batch number and the new batch number being matched to each other.

When the client creates an assignment for a returned batch, an assignment will automatically be created for one of the two batches in the service provider’s system. When an order picker starts working with this batch, they will now always be directed to the correct location. As a result, no manual actions or coordination between people are required, allowing the order picker to get started immediately. This not only reduces the risk of errors for order pickers, but also creates a calmer and more efficient working environment.

The same functionality has also been made available for rerouting. If you have any questions or would like to receive more information, please contact info@greencommerce.nl or call +31 (0)174 642 622.
