Implementation of the new working method at QPI’s Spanish location
For a Spanish location of Quality Produce International (QPI), Product Specialist Emiel van Straalen boarded a plane to support the implementation of a new working method for outgoing quality control. This was Emiel’s second trip to the Spanish location. In this interview, he explains how the trip went and how the new working method immediately adds value.
Together with Leonie from QPI, Emiel traveled to Spain for three days to support the new working method for “outgoing quality control.” With this method, inspectors can indicate which product is intended for which customer and reserve it accordingly. This allows them to respond to specific customer requirements at a detailed level. Emiel says: “Through the QC App, the inspector can assign products at pallet level per location and per customer. This information then becomes available in GreenCommerce for the commercial department. This way, employees are directly connected with each other, without any form of communication.”
By being physically present on site, there was more time to observe processes and make improvements immediately. “Together we had the right knowledge to align QPI’s business processes with the possibilities of GreenCommerce. It was a pleasant collaboration with Leonie, and we complemented each other well.”
It was a valuable visit in which major steps were taken in a relatively short time. Emiel explains: “The difference compared to last year’s trip is that you immediately notice they have been working with GreenCommerce for a longer time. The first time, everything was still new and I mainly had to support them in using it. Now many in-depth questions were asked. That shows they have really made progress.”
Emiel concludes with a look to the future: “The intention has been expressed to eventually run the entire quality and logistics process through GreenCommerce. Since our visit, they have already started taking the first steps toward this. All in all, a positive trip that was very valuable for both parties.”
