Developments: Outbound inspection for supplier-delivered sales
When products are sold directly from the supplier, two different types of inspections are commonly carried out in practice: product inspections and outbound inspections. To better support these workflows, several enhancements have been made to the QC App for outbound inspections.
What is the difference between a product inspection and an outbound inspection in the QC App?
With an outbound inspection, quality is assessed, but customer-specific requirements are also taken into account. These may include characteristics such as color, size, length, and ripeness. The inspection result is linked to a specific customer selection, giving quality staff greater control over which goods should be picked for customer shipments.
A product inspection, on the other hand, focuses on assessing the quality of the product itself. This is often supported by a quality report in which multiple quality criteria are reviewed and evaluated.
What’s new
The QC App has been extended to allow users to perform a product inspection while working within an outbound inspection. Just as users can already view the inspection report of a batch being sold, it is now also possible to create and add a new inspection report directly from the outbound inspection process.
The workflow is as follows: create a new inspection report for the batch, complete the inspection, and then return directly to the outbound inspection, where the inspected batch can be marked as “completed".
Because all information can now be filtered by sub-location group, it is also possible to scan a sub-location group and immediately view only the inspection lines relevant to that specific sub-location.
What has been developed
Visibility into inspection status
Within Outbound inspection → Inspection details, the inspection reports associated with the displayed batches are now retrieved automatically. When one or more inspections have been performed for a batch, the most recent inspection is displayed. This provides users with an immediate overview of the batch status and the date of the latest inspection.
Adding an inspection report from assigned batches
Within the detail screen of an inspection line (Outbound inspection → Inspection details → Line details), it is now possible to add an inspection report to an assigned batch. If the batch already has an inspection report, users can view the existing report but cannot create a new one. When completing an inspection report, a new option is available to immediately complete the corresponding inspection line as part of the same workflow.
Processing multiple inspection lines at once
It is now possible to select multiple inspection lines using the checkboxes, whereas previously only a single line could be processed at a time. The selected inspection lines can then be completed in one action using the button located in the bar at the bottom of the screen. Batches that have been assigned through sales are additionally indicated within the QC App by red markers on the inspection line, making them easy to identify.
